Dec. 26th, 2016 05:00 pmEver since Toronto, he's been drifting.
It's not really a surprise to anyone who knows him. After all, he'd gotten so close, done so much, and yet, it had all fallen apart at the end. Heartbreaking, in so many senses. He really had wanted to end it that day, but instead he'd awoken somewhere else, an apartment he'd never been to that belonged to his once-sister, now-daughter and that... had not been an easy conversation either.
So recently, he's been drifting, unsure of his purpose, unsure of his path. He'd tasted mortality, after all. Felt it, lived it for a day or so. He'd seen that there was a way out. And yet, after talking to Janette, he wasn't sure if it wasn't just another quick fix he was looking for, another escape hatch from his actions. His quest for mortality had killed an innocent woman; could he really justify it any more than his quest for a just kill?
No, no, he couldn't.
Why he ended up here, in the Accursed's territory, was anyone's guess. Maybe it was a little suicidal. Wouldn't be the first time. Maybe it was just a desire to go where none of his own kind would go.
But the bar was dark and quiet, the wine was good enough to drink with his own special vintage, and hopefully, the night would find something for him soon enough. Some direction. He certainly wasn't finding one himself.
